Summary of the week Summary of the week

 Week 3 (June 4 - 8)

Topic Topic

One collaboration, one class, one teacher and one company

This is the simplest model of collaboration between a class and a company. The model might or might not include a visit to the company, but always includes practical work for the class. Often this model is considered to be a pilot project. The participants will benefit from evaluating the course of collaboration and will want to make another attempt. When doing so they will realize it is much easier and faster to prepare a second collaboration – and they will often establish an on-going relation which is fruitful to future classes.

In this week we will discuss:

1) How do we find relevant companies in the neighborhood of the school?

2) How do we make a fruitful contact?

3) Which arguments do we need to show a company why they should participate in a collaboration with us?

4) Can primary school have fruitful collaborations with companies?

5) Which demands does the teacher have to the companies?

6) Which demands do the companies have to the teacher?

7) How do we reveal the relevant topics of the company?

8) How do we transform the practices and sciences of the company into school science?

9) How do we assure the level is the right – not too high and not too basic?

10) Which parameters should be evaluated?

11) Who will evaluate?

Expert of the week:

Søren Peter Dalby Andersen, consultant for Science Municipality Hvidovre Kommune and teacher at Langhøjskolen
