Summary of the week Summary of the week

We all agree that the role of parents is very important when it comes to children’s future choice of career.
Influence on a youngster's career
•    Parents can influence their children's choices quite a lot by creating positive or negative image to one or another side of life. We can't push children too much, they have to make their own choices, but it's very important which topics are discussed at home.
•    Research shows that children, whose parent(s) have a job in STEM, are more interested in STEM.
Good practices for involving the parents
•    Good practice: Parents Day – an usual school day but the difference is that the pupils are at home and their parents are at school. It's also a good situation to tell STEM career opportunities to parents.
•    Good practice: involving parents – organize open lessons of mathematics, computer science and other STEM subjects. The parents have the possibility to visit lessons, discuss it with teachers and students
