Expert of week 1: Anette Lauridsen from the Municipality of Assens (Denmark) is co-author of the Danish publication "Guide of Partnership" (Partnerskabsguiden) about mutual binding cooperations of schools, industries and organisations. Anette has several experiences of designing cooperations, where students work with a challenge from a company and give their suggestions for solution of the problem.

In this CoP you can discuss experiences and ideas of working with school-industry cooperations that are more than just a visit. How can you make cooperations between industry and schools where the pupils gets to work with real world problems` of the companies? What is the value of such a cooperation – for the pupils, the teacher and the industry? How can the companies give feedback to the work of the students? How can a cooperation of this kind be designed?

Outline (May-June 2012)

NB: The topics of week 3, 4 and 6 might be changed, if more experts are joining the community.
 

Week 1 (7.-11. May): Discuss with expert Anette Lauridsen from the Municipality of Assens, Denmark.

How to design cooperations where students give suggestions for solution of companies problems?

 

Week 2 (14-18 May): What is the value of such a cooperation – for the pupils, the teacher and the industry?

 

Week 3 (21-25 May): Innovation and entrepreneaurship as a topic for school-industry cooperation.

 

Week 4 (29 May-1 June): How can the companies give feedback to the work of the students?

 

Week 5 (4-8 June): Discuss with expert Jeppe Hust from House of Natural Sciences, Denmark

  • How do we “translate” real science problems to school science problems?

  • What type of problems/challenges can students work with?
  • How can these challenges be delivered from the industry to the pupils?
  • How do company’s and teachers cooperate about this challenge?

Week 6 (11-15 June): How to build a sustainable cooperation.
